Impact Lansing made a lasting IMPACT on my child. He grew in faith, confidence and compassion for people right here in our own city.

Parent Testimonial

Best week of my LIFE! My favorite parts were serving in the morning and then the worship at chapel every night. It made me closer to Jesus and I made so many friends!

Student Testimonial

This week gave my students community, purpose and space to encounter God in a powerful way. Hands down I recommend Impact Lansing to any youth leader or parent wanting the very best for their students!

Joel Wayner
Joel Wayner
Leadership Team

Joel was the first youth pastor to say yes to joining Tiny and Christie's vision 17 years ago, and we cannot imagine the week without his presence. As the Lead Pastor of Student Ministries at South Church, he brings decades of youth ministry experience and expertise. His heart for helping students not just experience Jesus but come into a personal relationship with Him as their Savior is truly amazing. Impact Lansing would not be the same without Joel!

All adult leaders serving at Impact Lansing are carefully selected and have completed background checks and ministry safety training.

Students exiting 6th, 7th & 8th grades from the 2025-2026 school year who want to grow in their faith, serve the community, build friendships, and experience a meaningful week centered on Jesus.
We are blessed that South Church allows us to take over their building for the week of Impact Lansing. We turn the upstairs classrooms into dorms for our female campers while the downstairs has a section for the males. The gymnasium becomes our cafeteria. We eat, serve, play, worship and sleep in the church for the week!

Each morning starts with a hot breakfast followed by devotions in the chapel. Then students break out with leaders to their service project assignments for the day. One day a student may be sorting cans in a local food pantry and the next day building a new wheelchair ramp for a local family in need.

Everyone meets back at the building for lunch and then spends the afternoon competing in team competitions and games including giant inflatable obstacle courses, water balloon slingshot, gaga ball and much more.

After a full afternoon, students have some free time to rest, nap, play a game, etc. before dinner. Our day finishes with chapel services each night. A different speaker from our leadership team speaks each night, along with chapel games and powerful worship services.

After chapel, students will have time to talk, pray and unpack what they have learned and experienced that day with their small group and small group leaders. We are blessed to then use the showers at Great Lakes Christian College because we know how sweaty those middle schoolers can get. Then it is back to the church for snack and bedtime.

Cost includes lodging, meals, transportation during the week, service projects, activities, t-shirt, backpack, and evening worship experiences.
Yes! Students are encouraged to invite friends. Many students attend with youth groups, but individuals are welcome as well.
Some churches may offer scholarships or assistance. Contact your ministry leader for details. If you are not attending with a youth group and would like to apply for financial assistance, we have limited scholarships available. Please email impactlansing@gmail.com for a scholarship request form.
Payment is due by June 28, 2026. Early bird pricing is available until May 3, 2026.
Students are supervised by trained adult leaders and background-checked volunteers throughout the entire week.
A packing list will be provided after registration. Typical items include modest clothing, comfortable shoes, toiletries, Bible, notebook, refillable water bottle, bedding, and any needed medications.
No. We believe that students will have the very best experience by leaving their cell phones and smart watches at home. They think it will be the worst, but truly find they are enjoying not having them with them 24/7 as the week goes on. Students are able to call home at any time though, and parents will be provided with their student's main leader's phone number to reach out if needed as well.
Yes. Please include food allergies or dietary needs on the registration form so we can plan appropriately.
Because Impact Lansing is designed as a full community experience, students are expected to stay for the duration of the week. Please contact your youth pastor or the director if you have any specific questions regarding this.
